Kino Fist Film Club

Writer Evan Calder Williams sets up for his introduction to the films.
In late November 2009 HotShoe Gallery invited Kino Fist Film Club to host a film screening at the gallery. The collective picked two films and asked writer and blogger Evan Calder Williams, who was over from the University of California where he conducts his PhD, to present them. The films were The Bedsitting Room (Richard Lester, 1969) and Steptoe and Son Ride Again (Peter Sykes, 1973).
Kino Fist describe their intentions thusly:
“We aim to show films that are both politically and aesthetically interesting and yet rarely screened. We also aim to reinstate the centrality of both the B-movie and the double bill to the cinema-going experience.”
